Torn belt from the coil

Hi everyone, something unpleasant happened to me, I accidentally set the Maslow movement the opposite way I wanted, and it was moving too far to the edge. Before I could stop it with the switch on the power outlet, one of the belts had moved out so much that it was pulled out of the coil.

I glued the end of the belt again, but a piece of the coil is broken off. Do you think it will hold? So far it seems ok.

I also opened the arm and found a loose magnet from the roller.

I have a question, is it possible to limit something like the maximum movement from the center point so that it doesn’t happen again?

Thanks for any answers.

Yes! This is such a good suggestion.

There is actually a setting for exactly this:

We had it disabled but our recent re-write of the internal math will now make that setting work correctly.

I just need to sit down and figure out what the limit is (unless someone else figures it out first  )

Hi, thanks, so is that function there? I’m not in the workshop anymore. I’ll take a look, I’d probably estimate the length so it doesn’t come off the scrap board. Jura

That setting will do exactly what you are asking for, basically it sets a maximum limit that the belt won’t extend past.
