1 belt does not want to retract?

I’m able to extend all but on one belt is not able to retract at all?

We’ve got a setting for that!

Try bumping this number up to 1500 or 1800 and it will pull a little harder

that worked! Thank you

What’s the highest safe value for retraction force? I had two belts on the same side ethernet ports that wouldn’t retract. One retracted at 1800 and the other isn’t retracting even at 2100

Funny, I just commented on this elsewhere. I believe Bar starts getting nervous around 2500.

I did ultimately get all belts to retract at 2400, but now I have one belt that will not stop extending when I go through the extend all sequence. I stopped it when it started to recoil the belt, rebooted the Maslow and tried again with the same result. Any ideas what would cause that? The only thing I can think of is that the magnet is on the wrong side for that belt, but if that’s not it I’d like to avoid disassembling everything.

I’m not sure what’s going on there. I wonder if it could be the reverse situation in the push-to-extend bug. My hypothesis: the M4 wants to extend the belt to the length it has calculated, but as it turns the motor, the length of the belt keeps going down, so it keeps the motor running to keep spooling out. Anyone out there want to prove me wrong, offer another explanation?

It definitely does sound like something funky is going on with that arm. If you press the “test” button what do you see?

[MSG:INFO: Firmware Version: 0.75]
[MSG:INFO: Motor detected on Top Left]
[MSG:INFO: Encoder connected on Top Left]
[MSG:WARN: Magnet not detected on Top Left]
[MSG:INFO: Motor detected on Top Right]
[MSG:INFO: Encoder connected on Top Right]
[MSG:INFO: Magnet detected on Top Right]
[MSG:INFO: Motor detected on Bottom Left]

[MSG:WARN: Magnet not detected on Bottom Left]
[MSG:INFO: Motor detected on Bottom Right]

So it does look like the magnets might be misplaced on both left arms. I’m assuming those directions are with the power cord facing toward me. The bottom left is the one that keeps overextending, although I haven’t had any problems with the top left. I’m going to disassemble and check to make sure those are put together correctly.

The magnet was reversed on the arm that wasn’t working. Switched it and the extend and retract all now all work. Still erroring out on calibration, but I’ll look for posts about that. Thanks!

Thanks for reporting the solution to your issue. It has been added to Troubleshooting section of the Maslow 4 Wiki Manual. Good luck with your calibration!
