Unable to jog after calibration

Hi all,

I am trying to use my Maslow4 (original kickstarter edition), but am running into some trouble.

First some basic info. My setup is on my (slightly bumpy) attic floor:

It is connected to a dedicated Wifi router nearby. UTP cable connectors glued in place.

Actual anchor dimensions (mm):
TL-TR: 4208
BL-BR: 4212
TL-BL: 3512
TR-BR: 3512
TL-BR: 5485
TR-BL: 5473

So not perfect, but I assume good enough to do some cutting. Spoilerboard is some 18mm particle board I had laying around, approx. 1800x1000mm.

Steps:

  1. Installed the latest firmware (0.87), including a fresh new maslow.yaml (5.3 KB) and index html file.
  2. Reboot. Moved Z axis all the way down (no bit in the router).
  3. Config → set dimensions & calibration grid 1500x800
  4. Retract all. BR did not move. After other 3 were retracted, did a 2nd retract all and that retracted BR as well.
  5. Extend all. Bottom belts extended 278cm, top belts 258cm (!)
  6. Calibrated succesfully (Maslow-serial.log (14.4 KB), fittnes 0.73)
  7. Released tension, had some dinner and went back a little while later.
  8. Applied tension. This actually released tension and triggered an error:

  1. Tried to jog, no movement but log shows “Jog: X-100”. Jog Z works fine.
  2. Tried running the maslow logo gcode. No movement, and got warnings (see below). After which maslow disconnected.

  1. Power cycled & calibrated again. After measuring a few waypoints error was triggered: MSG:ERR: Calibration data not acknowledged by computer, resending]. Full log: Maslow-serial (errors during calibration).log (18.8 KB)

Before continuing I am curious if anyone has had these issues as well?

Thanks for reading all the way to the end and a happy new year to everyone!

This is 100% the cause of that issue. Basically, for safety the machine will check to make sure that the stored calibration values match up with reality when you press “apply tension” and if they are too far off it will shut itself off for safety. Running the calibration process again (no need to enter any new information, just Retract All → Extend All → Calibrate should fix it.

Thanks for your reply Bar! To avoid confusion, I’ve posted my reply in the second thread I started: Help... Maslow disconnected. Broken PCB? - #4 by Justus, so we can close this thread.
