Weird little moves with jog

So I updated to 4.1 and whatever firmware it came with. I’m noticing this new behavior. When I jog the machine a small amount like 1/4” it overshoots and then pulls back into position. Like a pulse.

Possibly more concerning is it does this when I jogged the Z too. So I move the z down and the machine pulses sideways and back like an 1/8”. It appears to finish in the correct place but it’s very hard to move to a prefered home position on the material like this - both for the z home and when defining the lateral home position.

Any ideas? Is this the new normal?
Going to try to add video

Are you using it in horizontal or vertical orientation?

It sounds to me like the tension in your belts might be a little too tight which is causing the motors to sort of fight themselves. What you are seeing is the feedback control system engaging and disengaging causing the machine to move a little bit. In vertical orientation you will pretty much always get a bit of that especially higher on the board where the upper belts are tighter.

It’s vertical! So it sounds sort of normal then? What about if it’s doing that same pulsing when I move the z? That’s actually the weirder one. But maybe it’s just adjusting tension as the z changes?

Whenever any axis is moving they all power up so it’s the same thing
