Finally thought i had everything figured out, but now I’m lost again. Im trying to do a Flag, and some spartan helmets. It cuts the Stars on the flag. Then stops, doesnt go to the wording or to the stars for the helmet. Any advice would be greatly appreciated… ill upload a video to YT in a moment
Assuming that you have cut paths applied to the rest.
Is there a tool change that was put in when you created the cut paths?
Im using Carbide Create, and I created the VCarve items first. then I did the rest with a 1/8th bit. I saved out 2 seperate NCs
VCarve We The People _ 3 Spartan Helmets V_Carve.nc (991.8 KB)
1_8th We The People _ 3 Spartan Helmets.nc (431.7 KB)
Gcode M0 is a pause. Not familiar with M4 user interface but there is probably a pause or hold button you can click on to continue.
Of note, I always export separate gcodes for different bits. I don’t use tool change pauses.
I also use separate gcodes for engrave, had issues when I combined it with contours.
I do contours and pockets in the same gcode if using the same bit.
Do not change home until your project is finished. Need the gcodes to be based on the same home location for the same project
I had a problem when I was preparing the gcode file for my first cut. I designed it on Inkscape, so I had an SVG. I imported it into MakerCAM. I had included both profile (through) cuts as well as pocket cuts. When I rendered it into g-code, though, only the profile cuts were in the file. I scratched my head for a while and then realized that the pockets I was cutting (lettering) was narrower than my 1/8" bit, so I had to scale it up. Then it worked just fine.
