I will preface this by saying my control board is already proven faulty as far as the z axis is concerned and I have a new one on the way. My board also doesn’t have the blue flashing light for the IP address so i hope this is all just a control board issue and will be rectified with a new board. Just want to see if anyone else is having the same issue
I am connected directly to the maslow at all times from my laptop but it is constantly disconnecting like the maslow Wifi drops out for a second then comes back. My laptop isn’t trying to connect to any other networks, my hotspot and home wifi is all turned off.
Its incredibly frustrating because ill go through the tedious retract and then extend all process to then try and apply tension or start a calibration to find the wifi has disconnected. I then reconnect to the wifi but the maslow will appear frozen and wont take any commands which then requires a power cycle and a restart of the whole process. This sometimes takes 3 or 4 attempts before i can get it to apply tension. It also often occurs in the middle of a calibration run which also causes the maslow to freeze and not take any commands and start all over again.
Let me know if theres some sort of settings i can try adjusting on my laptop, if this is a normal experience or if anyone else is sharing the experience
That could for sure be a laptop setting. Because connecting to the Maslow wifi network doesn’t give you access to the internet some computers may not want to stay connected to it.
Thanks ill do some digging, i have it set to autoreconnect to the maslow which sort of helps but it still drops out pretty often
Ill try connecting both laptop and maslow theough my phone hotspot (house wifi doesnt reach) and see if that works better too
Sometimes if I disconnect and reconnect I’ll need to refresh the browser page, or if I haven’t sent a command for a while it will take a couple seconds to respond. Is that somewhat similar to the behavior that you are describing?
Yeah I’ve tried refreshing and all that too but the machine still doesnt respond. I’m not at home at the moment but I’ll try describe it as usually when you send a command to the maslow, it will respond with something like “Calibration - Requesting change from mode 1 to mode 2” or something along those lines. When the machine seems frozen, the serial just reads “:Calibration” without the ‘response’ part, if that makes sense. When it does this it wont let me do anything, i cant start the process again with retract all either, it has to be power cycled and then start the process again
This is only present when you are connecting to another network (Home network). If you are connecting directly to the Maslow, no blue light with the IP address.
Just to keep this one updated, I left my machine on for a few hours and then came back to it and it was disconnecting after every jog that i did. Each time i had to try refreshing the browser or disconnecting and reconnecting to the maslow wifi. It stopped moving or responding entirely so I ended up doing a power cycle, retracted fine, extended seemingly fine but then froze up again, power cycled a second time and this time i was able to retract/extend/apply tension and its been fine since.
Theres no errors in the serial or anything so i dont expect a fix, just wanted to keep it documented in case someone ran into the same thing. For now its workable
