Z axis "0" setter

I whipped up this Z axis “0” setter with some stuff I had cluttering up my bench. I know it looks all kinds of “Junk Yard Wars” but it it right now a proof of concept.
It is comprised of 16g sheet metal, a 9 volt battery, an auto circuit tester an a few alligator clips. The block of wood is to keep the sheet metal from sliding down the back.

Brings back memories of troubleshooting my old beetle with a tail light bulb and a piece of wire :grin:

are you aware that you could eliminate your entire circuit and attach the plate and clip to the arduino and (once you enable an option) have a button that will run the Z down to 0 for you?
