1.24 Calibration and Accuracy - Mysterious Moved Half-inch

Hey folks!

I am finally getting to the point where I am close to making usable things! I made a calibration stool out of scrap plywood and felt confident enough from that experience to make some changes and try something bigger. Turns out there was an odd quirk in my machine that only became evident when I built something that needed to be dimensionally accurate.

The actual cuts were mostly straight and accurate, but the models turned out more squished than there in-cad counterparts. There is a half inch that was added to cuts on the y-plane and another half inch that was lost in the x-plane.

After looking on the forums, it seems that this could be caused by my machine not having an accurate representation of the height of the stock that its cutting. I am going to double check that, but I worry that this variance is so precise that It could be something else. Any feedback here would be much appreciated, as I am very green when it comes to calibration of a machine like this.

I have also yet to try a run on the on the new 1.24 firmware. I have loaded it, and man am I impressed with the results! The calibration worked first try. I am wondering if having a more accurate calibration might help with the x and y variance that I experienced. I won’t be able to try again until this weekend, so I wanted to get advice beforehand. What’s really odd is that all of the dados were cut accurately, but the dimensions were off.

I have attached a few pictures of the warped project that is now slightly too short to hold my speaker  it was supposed to have a width of 11 inches:

I welcome any feedback. I am so excited to get some bigger projects cut!

if it is a repeatable squish/stretch there are scaling factors in the config that one could try?

Thanks @wouldchuck! After reading through more forum posts, I think that is what I was missing. I am going to go back to basics until I can get perfect squares.
