A little slow at this but I am just now ready to setup the Maslow 4, I have the 4.1 upgrade kit, should I assemble the 4.0 then do the upgrade or can I just jump to the 4.1
Just assemble using the upgrade kit. The upgrade replaces parts of the arm assembly, no reason to double the work. You will need parts from both kits.
Thanks!
Ok I have assembled the router/sled and the wooden frame but I canât find instructions as how to mount the sled to the frame. I assume it has something to do with the carriage bolts in the corners, but assembling the arms I did not leave enough belt out to reach across the 10â expanse.
When you power up the maslow, you will have to first retract the belts all the
way so that the machine knows where the ends are, then you will extend the bolts
to give you enough length to attach to the frame.

Hi dlang, I was able to get the belts to retract but not extend.
Thanks

what version of firmware are you running, and what exactly is happening?
David Lang
Need to extend them to hook on the frame.
Start in the web interface:
- Click on Alarm if present to clear it
- Click on Settings
- Click on Retract all
- Click on Extend all
- One at a time, âyankâ (really, itâs just a sharp outward tug; sometimes it works best with a twist to the side) on the belt end to get it started, then manage the belt while the Maslow 4 spools it out; keep some tension on the belt to keep it from tangling
- Once all four belts are fully extended, attach each belt to its corresponding corner anchor
That should get you to next steps. If youâve been doing all that, I defer to more experienced othersâŚ
Ok, I will do that.. thanks!
I meant to include:
I added this to the reply above.
Nope, no goâŚ
Got them out! Sneaky buggers, I thought they would all come out at once, but they came out one at a time, but only after they were tugged! Any particular order they go on the frame?
If you place the cord toward the âbottomâ of the frame, the top left belt goes to the top left anchor, and all the way around. I hope you followed the directions at assembling the router, specifically the order the arms go on.
(On this image, the router collet is facing up/us; the first arm on is facing up right when installed, but when the router is installed on the sled, that arm is top right.)
Itâs important.
Ok yup got that right at least. Now to update firmware to 1.0âŚ
Firmware update 1.0 does not have the maslow.yaml file. Also has a win64.zip and a posix file. One for Linux and one for windows? Does the firmware update process just find these files and install them?
I wouldnât call it a tug, use a prying motion to âbend the belt anchor endâ and this pryâs the belt. Basically you are telling the encoder to start releasing the belt.

itâs really hard (but not impossible) to pull multiple of them at a time.
There is no order for hooking them to the frame (other than if you have a
vertical frame, itâs probably better to hook up the top ones first and let the
sled hang from them than to hook up the bottom ones and then pull against them
and the sled to hook up the top ones)
