I have a Maslo 4 in a box and a 4.1 upgrade kit on order. It seems that delivery of the upgrade kit is still several weeks out to US customers. I have a timeslot to work on this in the next two weeks and would like to know if there are any recommendations against starting assembly and doing some tests while waiting for the upgrade kit, or would it be better to just wait?
That’s a tough call. The 4.1 update is a HUGE quality of life improvement (lots of little annoying things are fixed) so it would be a bummer to put it together without those and then have to do it all again, at the same time they are just far enough away that it’s a bit of a wait.
I’m leaning towards waiting. It’s a big improvement and you would have to take almost everything apart to do the upgrade
I would wait. I tried to upgrade my 4 but the lock tight was too strong and I could not get some of the screws out.
BTW @bar I have some JST encoder boards and wires if you want them back. I am in Seattle and I could drop them by.
sorry to jump on the back of this. i have a maslow 4 fully set up and going to do my first test cuts this week. is there a 4.1 upgrade kit? or would i need to buy the whole thing again?

There is a kit, the kickstarter versions are shipping now and as soon as they
finish and the parts get delivered to Seattle, they will be available in the
store.

It looks like I am late to the party. What would be the best way to get the upgrade kit, since I am late?

In a few weeks they will be available in the Maslow store.
