@bar, today I completed the upgrade of my Maslow 4 to 4.1.
As I put it through its paces, I tested the new control board. Extending the cables worked as expected. Operating the Z axis didn’t go as expected … one side worked but the other side didn’t.
My guess was it could have been the stepper motor, the motor wiring, the connection or the control board. To test the stepper motor and its wiring I connected the non-functioning motor to the working connector. Check, it worked fine. Next I inspected the connector on the board to see if there was any obvious soldering problem. As you can see in the pictures below there don’t appear to be any. This leaves me with the unfortunate (tentative) conclusion that my control board is defective.
Can you think of anything else I can do to test what else might be at fault?
If not then I guess I’ll need a new control board. I’d be happy to pay for the board and its shipping as I really admire the project you’ve been leading all these years. Just let me know if replacing the control board is the likely solution and also how I can reimburse you for the costs.
