I had ordered the Ridgid z-axis kit, and intended to go buy the router, but it appears the 22002 is not available in Canada. They offer the 29003 instead. I’m not really sure if they are near-equivalent for purposes of the z-axis kit.
I have a couple of Porter-Cable 892 routers as well, but I’m not sure what I’d need to do to get them to work with the z-axis kit.
Anyone have any ideas about either point?

That knob with the scale would be the connection point for the Z motor.
Look like the body above would prevent mounting it directly straight on.
You could mount it on the sled and use a sort of belt drive.
The clamp that normally locks the router tight, should be adjustable to let the router move, but not to loose that it would wiggle.
