Broken gear in planatary gearbox need part number

After cutting 3 stencils on some plastic coroplast, one of the belts wouldn’t extend and retract anymore properly, it would jerk and i could hear a aweful sound. Tore the gearbox apart and found one of the gears with a missing tooth and others with wear on the teeth edges. Where can I get a new motor/gearbox assembly?

contact @bar and @anna to get a new one, they are a custom order (longer shaft
than standard) so you will not be able to just order a new motor from China

Bar does intend to put all the parts up for sale individually, but he will
probably just ship you a replacement for free.

Ok I think this is the first cut of plastic with M4. Did you have any issues with the electrostatically charged chips caking up on the belt?

No not at all, i just had a blower fan blowing on it all the time and the dust collector on.

That’s good to know – I was worried about possible caking when cutting plastics. Regarding your busted gear, when you installed the motor did you apply pressure to try to relieve as much friction between the gears then screw it tight? There was a discussion about that in some other thread.

Yeah, inserted paper between the gears and also off the plastic casing like the assembly instructed

You sent us a message too, right? I think I saw it in my email. We should be able to get that in the mail to you today. Sorry for the trouble! (And the slow response…we were camping for the holiday weekend)

Yes Anna got back to me today, she’s taken care of it! And honnestly that’s a pretty quick response considering the amount of messages you must be getting. Keep it up, you guys are killing it!

when you get your new gear make sure the bearings are all the way down and recheck after you tighten the motor—if the bearing casing raises up it can make contact and possibly damage the gear

Yes they are glued in with green loctite, I work with pressed in bearings all the time. They fit good but one wasn’t staying all the way in so they are all glued in with a drop of green

Maybe that green-permenant Loctite wicked into the bearing–what compelled you to Loctite it initially?

No the bearing is perfectly fine, i did that since the bearing had a loose fit and wouldn’t stay there.
