Hello, my name is Paulo from Portugal. I am looking for buy of this cnc machine, but i have a problem…i never work with any SW machine for make the draw plans for cut or engraving.
What do you think about? is easy to learn?
Is any user in Portugal of the Maslow CNC?

According to the Maslow map, there are users in Lisbon and Porto.
I would say that building and using the Maslow CNC is pretty easy. There are a lot of things to consider, but the community has worked hard to make clear instructions and is really good at helping users who are having problems.
Of course by asking on the Maslow CNC forum, you are asking a group of people who have all decided that the Maslow is “easy enough” for them. The objectives for the Maslow CNC were 1) low price, and 2) good accuracy (around 1.5 mm), and 3) made with simple tools. Ease-of-construction and ease-of-use were also important, but we don’t want to simplify so much that we spoil the other objectives.

Não sendo um especialista tenho feito umas experiências com o Fusion 360 e não me parece complicado.
Em relação à máquina em si, é provável que tenha dificuldades no início mas eu já passei por esse processo.
Portanto vá perguntando que eu vou ajudando!

isn’t that kinda lowballing it? I was expecting way worse accuracy by being on the forums for almost a year, but those numbers might scare people away. I really didn’t put that much effort into my frame and i get pretty decent accuracy.
Just trying to be real. I’ve heard that number (well, not that number, but it’s imperial equivalent) a lot in the forums. For example, here:
In the center 4 x 4 ft I am consistently dead on in the x and .05 in off in the y and I put a lot of work into dialing in my machine. So I would say @jwolter is accurate with that assessment. However, if I adjust drawings to be .05 larger in the Y then I get perfect cuts.

Estava a procura de uma CNC e encontrei esta que me pareceu interessante pelo preço, mas com um funcionamento “estranho” hehehe depois vi os videos e entendi melhor.
Não tenho experiencia nenhuma nisto…
A minha procupaçao maior é relativamente ao desenho das peças ou letras…que software usar para desenhar tecnicamente ja que enviar depois em formato final acredito que seja fácil.
Além de cortar as peças, queria também fazer logos e letras rebaixadas na madeira. Acredito que dá para fazer, certo?
Outra duvida é relativamente ao Router que dará nos encaixes. O que tu usas? O da AEG que eles recomenda é muito caro…especialmente na Europa…nos USA é metade do preço. Eu uso um da Power Tools que acredito que não encaixe lá…
Esta CNC tas os encaixes para o Router? O meu medo é comprar e depois faltar algum acessorio para montar.
A estrutura para montar a CNC, fizes-te a tua como?

seja bem vindo. Eu sou o Edvanio, o que aparece no mapa da Maslow em Lisboa.
Eu comprei meu kit direto dos EUA. Paguei a alfândega aqui, mas acho que valeu a pena.
Quanto ao router, eu já tinha uma da AEG. Já está meio “gasta”, mas dá para usar.
Eu montei o frame comprando ripas num fornecedor de madeira. Não achei as medidas exatas que o manual pede, mas comprei umas semelhantes. Também não achei nada de jeito no Leroy. Mas está montada.
Agora estou na fase de calibração, que está a ser um pouco chata. Mas eu acredito que estará pronta em pouco tempo.

já fiz contato com o Paulo. Ele está perto da minha zona. Eu ainda não consegui sair da fase de calibração… Acabei de cortar a primeira peça, que é o sled final, mas agora vi que o mesmo não toca na superfície. Acho que errei no ângulo do frame… Você já passou por esse problema?

at this moment i think is not so easy to work with this maslow CNC.
The major problem related is how to mount correctly all the kit in the legs and other stuff.
I have tot is easy to find anyone with all information about this initial installation… installation, calibrate and so on…

O meu sled é um bocado diferente mas, pelo que estou a ver pela foto, o problema deve ser a altura das hastes onde fixam as correntes. Parecem muito curtas. Se as correntes estiverem mais afastadas do sled já não deve acontecer. Penso que no kit vêem umas hastes com vários furos. Dessa forma ajusta-se o afastamento das correntes.

Agora já vi com mais atenção a foto. As correntes estão montadas com o anel. Acho que só vai precisar de subir o anel nos suportes.

@MWPT, each person has to decide for themselves if they have the skills (and patience) necessary to build and get a Maslow working. The bad news is that you have to build it yourself. The good news is that the community is ready to help.

Perhaps this depends on the person. This was great news for me as it allowed me to do exactly what I wanted where I wanted it. I do agree that just because it might be less expensive than other options or perhaps slightly easier, it’s not for everyone.
