I made a video walk-through for the calibration process for tomorrows update.
It’s for version 1.05 which isn’t out yet, but I figured I would post it here first anyways

You have a couple of black sections 8:35 to 8:53 and 9:25 to 9:35.
Thank you for catching that! I will fix those!
Great video, thanks!
I’d suggest slightly expanding on the “retract all” part: make sure to check that all belts are fully retracted (and maybe show what a fully retracted belt looks like). Also, mention what to do if a belt isn’t retracting - either press “retract all” again or adjust the force setting.
P.S. Interesting to see the difference in fitness scores between the vertical and horizontal setups. Would such a drastic difference (1+ vs. ~0.6) suggest that the vertical setup might be more accurate during cutting, since the machine likely has better confidence in its positioning?

Thank you for posting this. This allowed me to successfully calibrate my newly assembled 4.1 machine. I was having issues many others were reporting and was unable to get a successfully calibration prior to following the steps in this this video. It helped clear up what some of the settings were supposed to represent, like when to use horizontal vs vertical, and that what some of the fields in the calibration setups should represent, and how to physically orientate when in horizontal to give the machine a good chance, etc. I had watched the old videos and instructions, and it showed previous firmware screens and steps and added confusion. I still have questions, as there is nothing that seems to fully explain all the buttons in the interface, and what each setting may or may not change and how to properly use them. Would love to see that in the future. But this is a great start.
Excellent! I am glad that it helped! Updating the user guide is next on my todo list.
@ian_ab and @wlkmnn Excellent suggestions! I’m uploading a new version now with those changes. I’m not sure why some clips didn’t export (leaving the blank sections), but I’ve fixed that, and I added more information about retracting the belts.
Phenomenal feedback!
Thanks for putting this together Bar! I’m not sure if it was the update from Version 1.04 or the guidance from this video, but with both changes I was able to calibrate successfully on a horizontal frame.
Made my first cut this evening!
Excellent work!
What were your first cuts? I want to see pictures!
Nicely done!
