Calibration process just unspools belts slowly

hey again here with problems…

I uploaded 1.02 trough usb-c like the video tells to do, now belts a extended correctly!

starting the calibration process, the maslow sometimes retracts the bottom belts very tight and the top belts not, getting " [MSG:INFO: Requesting state change from 4 to 6]".

meanwhile the maslow just stops doing anything unless unspooling slowly all belts, the first time a tought this is normal and i just go a BIG mess with the belts pushed trough the arms in the worng way!! all my belts have now a “knick” somewhere.

This is again just frustrating, while i am waiting for the new board i can’t not even calibrate it!

my freame is horizontal w:2000 h:1250
calibration grid size. w:400 h:200 3x3
or calibration grid size. w:1000 h:600. 9x9

in both ways the problem mains the same…

just tried to upload again the files, same thing happens…

Could the calibration mode be set to vertical? In vertical mode it expects gravity to be doing some work which would result in the belts extending like that

By default is it set to horizontal no? I am almost sure i saw each time horizontal written in the settings, but have to check again this evening in the status. I never clicked on the dropdown button because i saw horizontal.

The setting will be saved, but the process of updating to 1.0 will wipe your settings which will reset it. I think that the default is horizontal, but I’m not 100% sure.

If that’s not it a video would be super helpful, maybe I can spot what’s going on

It just tensioned 3 belts and stops there unspooling the 4th, last time it unspooled all 4 belts and make a big mess! And sometimes it gives a message lime the states 4 to 6 or something.

The frame is set to horizontal.

Closing the UI, the arm still unspools and dosent stop… now i released one of the tensioned belt and realised that an other was retracting the belt the whole time

Just got also yesterday the new bord…

Opened the package, and a piece drop out of it.

Isnt that the cooler from the chip making problems? I have no glue for that purpose… can i install it without it?

UPDATE:
installed the v.03 with the new board (without cooler on the one chip).
→ One belt bottom left sometimes not retracting (need to rectract twice)
→ extracting works

asks me to change state 3 of 3 (guess this means press calibration?)
→ press the button and then it asks me to change the state 3 of 6

I am completely lost with this machine.
This seems to be all software related problems because with each update i am getting closer.
Am i the only one that can not make work this machine?

If it takes multiple attempts to retract, you need to up the limits. I had to redo this step going to 1.02. There are other threads on this.

What is state 3 of 6? I started all over again and again and always reaching to the same point.. blocked there. It isnt clear what to do, what it means, i tried every thing, just can’t get any further.

I am going to add more clear messages for these in the next update. That is for sure needed. You can ignore these for now.

I’m still not totally clear on what is happening with the belts unspooling.

What do you see if you press the Setup button and then press test?

It stoped to unspool with the update thats the past. I am not a home to try but i did press the test buton 10 times already and believe that each time it tested 4 things which were good but i can‘t remember the serial

I am here again with the same old problem. Latest firmware, a pain in the ass until can get it to press the calibration button because the serial tells me that there is a problem like “low data savings’ sry cannot remember the correct word in english which was displayed.

When finally the calibration button unblocked, it moved to the right side (power plug) and started to unspool slower tan a slug. I tried to let i do its thing and just pulled the belts to prevent a misery all 2 seconds until it reached the point that the left side was unspooled completely and it started to spool in the belt in in the wrong direction.

I am still lost, just wanted to trow that thing out the window. No advance, just now the 4 arms are unspooling all togheter. Help

usually this only happens if you have the machine set vertically (like a wall)
but have the setting set to horizontal (like a floor)

what version of firmware are you on?

just checking, your frame is flat on the floor, not leaning? If you have it set
in the software to horizontal, but have the frame leaning, that would cause the
symptoms you are seeing.

when the frame is flat on the floor, the belts will only feed out while you are
pulling on them.

what do you have the belt extension length set to in the 1.05 software settings?

The frame is flat on the floor. I believe it is set by default to 1700mm, I didn’t change anything apart the grid size to 1200x600. Frame: 1500x1000

It was calculating the flex something unspooling

that is a very small frame, with that small a frame you don’t need to extend
more than ~800mm (and even that is probably high)

you also will need to reduce your grid size

see http://lang.hm/maslow/maslow4_frame.html
you will probably start to run into errors above 800x400 with that size frame
