Ehh, it’s going I guess. No response and been a week regarding the missing mount. Emailed, texted the number, called metal Maslow. It’s been 4 weeks and still not spare shield neither. Working on making a mount myself for now, I was sidetracked as my son had baseball tryout and wanted to practice every waking minute.
One thing that has been bothering me, more so than anything else and trying to figure out what went wrong, is why my part is off the way it is. When I push it to the template, on the front contour side it’s actually pretty much perfect. Then the back, bottom and top are off like 1/2 inch or so
I need to figure this out, that’s why that back looks maybe stepped or angled when you look at the WebControl screen, somehow something is screwy in the auto measurement.
Going to depot today and will see if there is something I can do to mount the Z axis box. Trying to make a wood mount temporarily and don’t like it. I rather the original part so does not look hokey, but my guess is they don’t even have the part available as I texted numerous times with no reply.
So, ive seen a lot of posts with people complaining about getting no response from @metalmaslow. However, from what i can tell, a response eventually comes. Maybe tagging will shake the tree but i wouldn’t stress too much about it.
I did not realize that. Don’t wanna be a jerk as I already texted after leaving a VM as they said that’s ok. There’s no way you don’t see a text you know what I mean. I bought some different supplies, just got home with them actually.
Going to cut some 1 in sq aluminum stock, then I bought some thicker angle aluminum. May just cut myself 2 1 inch wide L brackets. Flip them sideways. I got some bolts and I’ll drill out and bolt to the stock; then pop bolt on each side through the box thing. Then see if can use the original bolts to mount to the sled itself.
Didn’t want to do it this way as more bolts to maybe come loose, but I got lock washers so figured can’t be that bad. Bought a few more cutting diss and a new bit. Just a little butter as all this crap cost half the price of the whole Z setup I bet. Is what it is, I will make it work in next day or 2 I hope :).
