Carbide Create/maslow software assistance

Hello,

I was just wondering if anyone uses carbide create to make their cuts. It’s a bit tricky to understand especially for first time users. I was able to test something but my cuts were taking extremely long to complete. My Maslow 4.1 was taking up to 24 hours just tO cut one layer. And there’s about 4-5 layers. Basically a full week to cut out simple shapes from one piece of ply. Is this normal For everyone? Is it the software I’m using? A particular configuration that I need to adjust in the Maslow software or carbide create to make it cut faster? I’m still learning about all of this but I’m sure no one is spending an entire week with this thing on 24/7 to make one cut. Please advise. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I used to use Carbide Create and I know that some other folks on here do too, so it’s not a bad software choice. I picked it because it was one of the only ones which would work on Mac.

Absolutely not, that sounds like it was moving way too slow.

The setting that you want to adjust is called the Feed Rate. In Carbide Create I would usually pick the “soft wood” speeds by default and then often I would speed them up even a bit more.

I’m not sure where things are going wrong in your setup, but if you post your gcode file or some screenshots from Carbid Create that could help us to track down where the issue is.
