I think the chain length supplied is 11’? How much of this is available for use i.e what is the minimum retained behind the motor?
I am mounting my frame to the 8’ ceiling so I can move the motors much higher (up to 24") to reduce the strain at the top but I don’t know if the chain length will allow this without buying more chain. I have modeled it and this will need about 10’ of chain available.

It pretty much gets used up on the standard frame. Fortunately, it’s very standard stuff, easy to get more. The kit comes with two master links that you’d need, so all you really need is the extra chain. Managing the slack of the untensioned end of each chain is a consideration.
