Help Figuring Chain Length

So I built a metal frame and received the M2 kit. My X and Y motors are mounted 10ft apart and 12 inches about my 4x8 wasteboard. How do I figure how much chain I need to add?

The kit chains are designed for a 10 ft top beam and a 4x8 work area. So you should not need any extra. If you want to go to a 12’ beam and raise it up 30" from the cut area, you need 15’ chains. Am I misunderstanding what you are asking?
