Clamp Shelf with Hexagons

As I continue to clean up and organize my shop, I needed a place to put my bar and pipe clamps. I had enough scrap leftover from my ukulele case and sail spar rack projects to use for this effort. I also played around with creating hexagon cutouts in Fusion 360.

Definitely set the NC program to cut out the hexagons first and then the perimeter …

I’ve been playing around with adding hexagons to projects too, it’s a fun shape that would be really hard to do by hand :grin:

That looks great! I’m also interested in Kumiko patterns, but some may be too delicate to CNC.

So far my rule on Maslow projects is that I’m going to add our try something I wouldn’t do by hand or like you said would be hard to. It’s a bit like designing for 3D printing where you don’t want to just mimic what could be injection molded.
