Corner Bit Radius

I think it’s pretty typical for metal fab machine shops to cut inside radii with a bit smaller than the radius. In other words, they won’t cut a .25" radius with a .5" diameter bit to reduce chatter on the bit. Is this an issue with wood? How would that be accounted for - I’m assuming the software you use to generate the gcode? If so, unless it’s built in the back end, I don’t think Makercam builds in that detail. Is this even something to worry about?

I thought about this early on. You can separate the cuts and make them separate paths in Makercam with different tools. So the corners would be for a smaller bit or any feature you want you want greater detail with. Ground control will pause between the cuts and prompt you to switch out the bit.

Thank you
