I’m wanting to know if anybody has attempted to use the Maslow 4 as a giant vinyl cutting machine or film cutting machine. Possibly use a Cricut swivel cutter blade within router? Basically wanting to cut some very large sheets of wall vinyl, not to exceed 4x8. Maybe I can 3D print an adapter that would fit into the dewalt router collet and allow for use with a cricut swivel blade. The vinyl would be double sided taped onto a sheet of smooth plastic or smooth wood, which would keep in in position while it’s being cut. Since the router remains off and the maslow just moves around, in theory it should cut, but I don’t know how clean the edge will come out. Maybe flat orientation is better for this.
People have used it as a plotter with markers, so the concept isn’t downright unsound. I would worry about the sled potentially pulling on the material. Might be good to put it on casters to remove that concern. Past that, I’d expect some growing pains and having to test and tune, but it could be worth an exploration.
there have been discussions on it, and designs for drag knives posted. I don’t
remember if anyone said that they actually made cuts with it.

It’s nice that the sled has 4-bolt patterns around the circumference for that use.
This is what I have found although I have not tried it yet.
I don’t have the Maslow yet. I will be ordering in 3rd week of January as I have finally found a price point I can live with when the 4.1 is released. I am also a circuit user and have done some research on combining Vinyl cutting with a CNC router. Some people have crafted their own drag knife holder but I am new to all this and just want something ready to go.
