Couple questions

Do I need to take the sled off the frame Everytime I am done using it? Belts stretch at all if I leave it hooked up overnight in 20°f garage? So once calibrated I don’t have to do it again? :crossed_fingers:t2:
Next question, I kept getting disconnected messages from my Maslow Wifi Connection. If the USB is plugged in, how can I use that instead of the wifi. Maybe I could connect to the shops wifi? I am just getting disconnected notices from Maslow wifi.

You don’t have to recalibrate every time you take it off and put it back on the frame. But you do need to take it off and put it back after a power cycle. When you turn it on, do:

  • retract all
  • extend all
  • apply tension (or whatever this is called)

When you take it off:

  • release tension
  • (take it off)
  • retract all
  • power off

Thanks, it’s nice to be able to ask questions!

Ok, well today was a disaster. I decided to rerun the calibration and it took forever, so I came in to make a cup of coffee. I went out and the router was on the floor, one of the top belts had busted and the other top corner plastic belt clamp had busted and came off.

I ordered replacements from the store. I am outta commission. Crazy…it had lost connection during calibration so I clicked on “please reconnect”. Getting tired of the calibration ballet/drama.

What was the temperature when that happened? I had a snapped belt with temperatures around freezing, and here is another report: Broken belts in cold temperatures

@bar: Are you aware of more such incidents? If so, maybe a warning in the instructions would be beneficial?

Good morning,

I had the heat on in the shop. It should have been 50° to 60° F. But it’s nice to be aware of that fact.

I posted this elsewhere in the forums but it received no response so I will move it here. My parts arrived and I finally got the Maslow repaired. Now when turned on I get lights but no Maslow wifi. Did I also damage the board? Any thoughts on how to bring it back to life?

What lights do you get? Green, blue, or red?

Hi Bar, I get a green light.

Next pic is what I see on the available networks

The easiest thing to do is probably to re-install the firmware. That way we will be starting from a known setup. Here’s a video walk-through for that:

Thanks! Gonna be Saturday before I can get to it! But I got my fingers crossed.

I couldn’t wait till Saturday to do this. So I snuck out here and followed the video. I have the Maslow network available again. I retracked the belts and all came back except one. It is like 3 inches from being fully retracted. So I thought I would extend them again. Well they won’t budge. I am afraid to pull to hard on them. I mean they came out a little, like 1/2" but I don’t dare pull too hard. And they will not retract the half inch either.

don’t be afraid to pull really hard on them

increase the retraction current setting if they won’t retract (note that you
can’t start retracting until you pull them out all the way, something I find
annoying, you should be able to do retract-all from any state)

When they are not coming out does the state say “Extending”? You can also try giving them a little push and then a pull, but keep in mind that for things to work right the belts need to be fully retracted before they are extended because that is how the machine knows how long they are

It worked! I finally shut everything down unplugged the power and USB from the Maslow and rebooted my PC reconnected to the Maslow wifi network and hit retract. It brought all 4 belts in and right with no issues. So I promptly hit extend and was able to pull all four out until they stopped. So I retracted all 4 and will begin the calibration process again on Saturday. Thanks again you guys for hélping!

If you can figure out what we don’t have correct in the instructions, please
tell us so that the next person is better able to get started.

I just have a couple thoughts on the instructions. I am coming from the original Maslow so things on the 4 version are not similar at all…so far…first I did not know that once calibrated I did not have to do it again. I did not know that at the end of the day I have to take the machine down and retract the belts. On the original I simply hung the sled on the waste board using a hook. So at first I thought that every time I went to use it it would need to be calibrated.

The top bolts for the belts are just out of reach. I need to use 2 ladders to disconnect the Maslow from the frame.

Other than that I am still pumped and excited to see this thing in action.

As you can see most of the issues I am having deal with operator error…it is incredibly kind of you guys and gals to take time to answer our questions in this forum. Thanks again.

when many people have similar problems, it seems like something should be done
to help reduce the error. Hopefully the video will help, but anything else that
could be done is good to think about.
