Design of the Router Clamps

Hello, I see that the Clamp router is not working well. I insist on tightening the two screws but that damages them. With blue nuts it’s not better. So the Dewalt motor ends up shifting to such an extent that it distorts the retraction measurement because the arm motors touch it. And the engine goes back up, which loses a few tenths of a millimeter.
On the Dewalt router there is a screw thread. Perhaps by adding a shape to suit the groove to the router clamps it would be possible to hold the router and even clamp it to prevent it from lifting or turning?

That is an interesting suggestion. I think it might even be possible to make that modification to the mold without needing to re-make it fully.

I haven’t run into too many issues with the router clamp though. Do you have any pictures or video of what is going on?

My concern is what adding that would do to people using other spindles.

I noticed that everyone who uses other pins all printed an adapter so he would just have to modify it with a groove. And if it works they would also benefit from keeping the engine in place.

I will make a video but I just modified it with thick double-sided tape to prevent it from twisting and a nylon collar to prevent it from riding up.
Two problems that can be solved:

  • it can slide upwards and loses a few tenths of a millimeter with each machining
  • it can move out of alignment and pushes the BR arm

Possible causes:

  • lubrication of the axes which overflows onto the fixing
  • unscrewing of the retainer by vibrations
  • motor attachment too partial

The problem is, the adapter may only be a mm or two thick.

it could just be the head of the screws provided if they fit into the groove and therefore removable if necessary

and what I think is the main cause of the misalignment: changing the cutting tool
