hi I just purchased a brand new Maslow 4.1 CNC Router Kit off of eBay last night for $650.00 just wanting to know can I use a diode laser on it for engraving and cutting, and is there software to run the machine if you could please let me know regards
Not really as of now. It would be possible to mount a single point laser in the Maslow sled. Laser engravers sometimes scan a 2d line as the move and that wouldn’t work with the Maslow because it rotates around the cutting head as it moves. You would also need to play with hacking it’s control into the board to receive the gcode for turning on and off. The Maslow as designed is built around an always on router that raises and lowers into sheet wood. The Maslow generally moves with an accuracy of a few mm so a laser might not be very satisfying.
