Do cut segments fall off?

Hi. I’m just wondering if the machined wood segments/pieces fall off once it has been cut? How does it keep it secure?

You can leave the parts to fall out when cut, but a better approach is to leave small tabs to hold them in place. Most CAM software can put them in automatically, and they can easily be cut with a chisel or any small saw. They look something like this after you pop the part out:

The tabs are generated by your CAD/CAM software. The settings in the software should let you specify the location, length, and thickness of the tabs. It will be slightly different for each software package. What software are you using?
