Flip DC Motor Polarity?

I wired my arm motors backwards it seems because when I run Retract All the belts extend and vice versa. Is there a setting to flip the direction or polarity in the settings or should I just fix my wiring?

Unfortunately there isn’t a setting for that

Are you doing a totally scratch build? That’s awesome! If so I’d love to see pictures

No worries, I just cut the wires and rejoined them, haha.

It is mostly from scratch. I bought some parts the shop like the motors because they seem custom. Also bought gears and bolts from the shop. I 3D printed the plastic parts. I’ll post a new thread soon when its done with photos.

Right now, the belts retract well but when I try to extend them the spools barely start moving for a split second and stop. If I squeeze real hard right where the magnet and the encoder board are to bring them closer together that belt will start moving a bit. I think something is off with the magnets I glued in. I’d buy magnets from the shop but looks like they are sold out for now.

That sounds like it could be an issue with the strength of the magnets. Are the ones that you have diametrically magnetized?

You used to be able to order free samples from the ams-osram.com website, but I can’t find where to do that now

Ah, the direction of polarity is my problem. I used some craft store magnets which are magentized through their thickness. Guess I didn’t think that through. I found some on umagnets.com for less than $5.00 so not big deal.
