This is for the original Maslow using Arduino 256 board.
I have recently set a machine up for the local MakerSpace. Its one of the M2 jumpstart kits using the original Maslow electronics. I have installed a 800W spindle instead of Router, the power and speed of the spindle is controlled manually. I also installed Web Control on a Pi (3b) that is collocated on the wall with the Arduino. The spindle is bolted on a DIY Z axis using linear bearings and ally extrusion. I have an Ethernet cable connection to the pi with a short direct USB connection to the Arduino. i can connect to the Pi from a laptop through the local network to load up Gcode and control WebControl. I have got it all to work, except finding that Web Control does tends to drop out on regular basis, especially when the spindle runs. I think, sometimes its an EMI problem, but not all the time. It seems the server crashes on the pi, (or so I am told). I saw somewhere that some believe the GC22 is better and more stable software… is it true… and might be worth a try. Can i load GC22 to a pi … and if so how (easy steps please!!). Any thoughts from anyone? BTW the spindle is great…much quieter than router… and I even have it water cooled… probably worth considering an upgrade if you havent already.
no reason why gc can’t work on a pi, the headache is that it’s a desktop app,
so you have to hook up a monitor/heyboard to the pi directly.
