How can I remove the router?

I have had the worst luck with this machine, but I refuse to give up. After taking a break for almost a year, I went back and updated the software today and was about to calibrate it whenever I realized that I cannot remove the bit. Whenever I try to move it, the router twist and keeps me from holding the button down.

I’ve tried everything that I can think of and at this point, I think I just want to take the router out and start fresh. Can anybody tell me the right way to remove this? I looked at the assembly guide and watched a few YouTube videos, but I’m still not 100% sure without taking it all apart.

I was, but then it cracked because it was twisting. D’oh!
