Quick question here: Is there a way to do a factory reset or restore to default? or can you delete specific saved files? I am having issues running calibration and I would like to delete to stored calibration from before.
Thanks

Yes. If you can connect to the Maslow via WiFi and get to the WebGUI, you can delete and upload files from there. The Maslow.yaml and index.html.gz can not be called anything else. Depending on the firmware you have installed, you can rename files or delete them before uploading new files.
You can also set it in boot-mode to re-install firmware via USB.

This is really the way to factory reset. This will fully wipe EVERYTHING and reset it all back to how it was.
Sadly calibration isn’t working for most it seems. I’ve been trying to for weeks now and haven’t had one single complete cycle.

everyone who posts a working cut as been able to get through calibration, It is
harder than it should be, but hopefully that will improve.
I’ll follow up on the rest in the other thread

Hopefully, fingers crossed, is all that can be done at this point for users.
If there isn’t already. Maybe we should have a form, or set up a topic, where everyone can input their settings easily and tag were in the process of calibrating it fails.
Setting aside testing new firmware, I haven’t had any issues that can’t be directly linked to my own errors or forgetfulness. Before I set up for the first cuts, I had already read so many posts on this forum that I modded everything that we thought could lead to errors. Protection from EMI being one of the main focuses.
I also chose the firmware that was considered most stable at the time.
Considering the information about known issues I had when starting up, I felt prepared. I was also very aware that this is not a finished, or fully working, commercial CNC with all the wrinkles ironed out.
Not everyone has the same *isms as I have. And thus won’t spend hours reading forumposts just to suddenly realise that the thread is dated 2017 and relates to the first version of the Maslow ![]()
I think it would be extremely beneficial for new makers to have a very clear way to find the crucial information in one place. I’m working on my own checklist that I’d be happy to share when it’s closer to complete.
Sorry for missing this post! I just saw it.
On the list you’re creating for new makers, can you make it explicitly clear something like: “this is a work in progress. It is not a guarantee that it will work since it it an open source project. Do not expect a working machine even with the instructions given. There are many things that need to be fixed before being a retail product”. I’m 100% sure many newcomers would love this disclaimer. I know I would have loved to have read this on bold print on the purchasing page (I wouldn’t be surprised why this isn’t so, but I digress).
I agree with you that it takes a very specific person to be ok with a none working machine and appreciate it for what it is. I’m worried many retail buyers will purchase this and be wowed by the projects made with the previous Maslow iteration and think it’s the 4.1’s work and be left with very expensive plastic paper weight.
