WARNING to EastBay users switching to WebControl: I got mine set up and working with the stock firmware/software combo and then decided to get WebControl working. After setting up WebControl for remote access, I updated to the Holey Firmware from within WebControl so I could do the Holey calibration. After updating, the left motor began turning immediately and would not respond to software control. The machine must be unplugged from the wall, usb unplugged, or WebControl shut down to get it to stop turning. As the whole point of WebControl is remote access, this is a potentially serious issue.
After detaching the chains and trying the other two firmware options in WebControl with the same result, I found this thread and reverted to the 1.26b firmware from EastBay and WebControl is working.
This is a known issue. the 51.28 firmware does not have support for the TB6643 chip and pinout setup used in the 1.5b Eastbay shield. I’m currently testing 51.29 with one of the 1.5b shields and hope to have it operational soon.
