Linear rod fit, too long?

I’m in the final stages of building my maslow, the bit where you fasten top of the linear rods with the vertical supports to the base. The instructions say there will be a small gap that you’ll remove as you tighten. I wouldn’t describe is as small, was around 3mm. I tightened it up anyway and it’s gone together but the base is now bowed from one side to the other which just doesn’t feel right. If I press down on one side of the base the other raises up by about 2.5mm
I tapped in the rods to the base as instructed and checked in from the hole behind to see they are well seated. I’m just thinking they are too long. Is there a measurement for how long they are supposed to be. I noticed the cuts on the rods were not so crisp.

The specification is 210mm.

…and if I recall, there was an issue in the early kits with the rods not being cut cleanly. Inspect the ends and, if needed, use a file to remove any burrs or flatten an angled end.

Thanks, got one of my rods out and measured, it’s 212mm. That’ll be my problem then. Angle grind it down or pack out the supports? What do people think?
Anyone else’s oversized?

I see this is covered quite a bit elsewhere with the link above, I’ll cut them down to 210.
For info, I’m a group 3 backer and I guess one of the last batches of kits.

This seems remarkably common. I’ve been talking with the rods manufacturer about how we can make them more precise

I experienced the same problem – too large of a gap when trying to connect the linear rods/supports to the base. I worked around this seemingly too long rod problem by loosening the top support cap piece (the part we connected in the step just before) to give enough wiggle room to get the support base to connect to the sled. I was able to get the bolts threaded into the nuts for the support/sled connection and then went around in succession to tighten incrementally each screw until the support was tight to the sled and the top cap was tight to the support.
