Manual override for release tension?

Would it be possible to have a manual override for the release tension button? Currently when I am stuck in calibration purgatory retracting, extending, attempting calibration, failing, retracting extending….. I often have to force my anchors in a bad way because when the machine is in an “unknown state” it wont do anything but retract. I would really like to release tension so that I don’t break my anchors. As the human looking at the system I know it would be the best thing but the machine won’t let me.

If you power reset the Maslow, you can then do a release tension, multiple times if necessary. Of course you will then have to retract, extend, tension RET again.

the machine should release tension when in an unknown state, if it doesn’t, let
me know and I’ll do a quick fix for that.

there is a manual override, you can manually control the belts with commands
lik $BLO to feed the bottom left belt out a little

you can do this via the serial port (USB) via telnet, or at the bottom of the
fluidnc control panel (the tab to the left of where you go to upload
files/firmwre/reboot etc) on the bottom there is a box and button to send
command

I’ve had a couple of times where a command didn’t just run for a short time, it
ran until I pulled power. that was on development firmware, so I didn’t track it
down

I have not seen it release tension at all when it is stuck or transitions to an unknown state. I guess I am mostly getting there by having to restart or when the computer reconnects. I will try the BLO commands. I have also been having to press stop when something weird goes on during calibration but that also does not let me release tension. Maybe it is just not clear for me to know what order to press the buttons in.

Be very careful with these. They’re hidden for a reason. They override everything else that is happening I believe even overriding reading the encoders

Ok, that would be awkward.

There really there just to fix things like jams. Release tension should always be available in the latest version

Release tension has never worked for me when it was stuck either in calibration mode when there was a problem or in unknown state mode. I am using 1.12 I will check again next time I am using it.
