I’m about to tackle upgrading my 4.0 to 4.1 with the upgrade kit.
From the blog post, I’ve reviewed the sled and arms videos.
However, the sum of those two aren’t enough to finish.
Where can I find the complete set of videos to guide my upgrade to 4.1?
@Bar, since you were so quick to answer I’ll ask another question.
What was the proper size hex driver I needed (which wasn’t included)?
I could comb through your weekly updates to find out but I’d prefer to ask here.
with the 4.1 you need a t-10 driver for most of the nuts and a T-8 for the
setscrews that hold the gears to the motor.
there are short, L shaped drivers of both sizes included, and a nicer T-8
driver, but not a good T-10 driver
note that the T-8 is fantastic for picking up the locknuts and positioning them.
they are the perfect size to fit in the nylon end with just a smidge of grip.
@bar@Dano@dlang Please correct me if I’m wrong but the upgrade process appears to be roughly: 1) disassemble everything necessary to swap in the upgrade components but no more, 2) reassemble using new hardware as provided, 3) update to new firmware. Is that about right?
I ask because all the guides seem to assume building a full kit.
For 4.1 full kit, should these videos be followed in any order? It would be great if there was a document to print and have in the garage to follow, as not all of us have great eyes.
This is what I’ve been looking for all along.
Too bad I’ve now almost completed the upgrade.
Out of curiosity, why are we upgrading the two linear rods?
