Maslow 4 need to recalibrate after rebuilding?

I had a bizarre incident on Monday where the bit got stuck in the board and dislodged from the router as the Maslow walked over the top of it. I am still trying to understand what happened, but have taken the machine completely apart and rebuilt it and , amazingly it seems fine. Prior to the incident, the machine was cutting fine and had done 5 passes through the initial piece with no probelms. I do not know if it may have been caused by a bad line in the gcode or the bit slipping from the collet. I am still investigating, but am curious if rebuilding the machine is enough change to warrant a recalibration.

If your anchor points haven’t changed then there is no need to recalibrate.

:+1: Thanks. Going to do some testing!

Everything seemed fine after rebuilding the machine. Tried a dry run with no bit and it finished the trace with no problems and then errored out trying to return home. Now after restarting and connecting the two top belts will not retract.

Here is the entire serial log:

the fact the you have two belts that will not retract probably means that there
is some plastic grit that has jammed them up. it can happen incredibly fast.

Try power cycling the Maslow, then retract. Sometimes it gets in a bind.
