New to Maslow. Need Advise

Hello. I’ve been following the development of Maslow for several years now. I recently retired from a job were I ran a 60” X 120” CNC router. Since retirement, I’ve really missed using the CNC. What I do have, is an old PC with Aspire 9.5. I got used to this program, and I often use it for drawing plans for different things i’m either making, or wanting to make. I believe it will suffice for my CAM software. I am hoping to acquire a Maslow 4.1 in the near future. Since the PC is old, I plan to use a MacBook Air to run the CNC. I can fairly easily transfer my Aspire tool paths via thumb drive, but I need to know what other software I will need to actually run the Maslow. Any help is appreciated.

You shouldn’t need any other software to run Maslow.

We found that the best way to make sure that our “software” works on any computer is for it to work like a website. You don’t need to download or install anything and it works on any computer or tablet (windows, Linux, Mac, etc). Just connect to the machine and the interface will pop up.

The hard part of the software is the CAD/CAM part and it sounds like you have that covered.

Thanks Bar! Ill have to check it out.

Steve

Hi, with your experience over many years, it would be great if you could share it with us. e.g. types of router bits, speeds, how to proceed with certain materials, with laminated surfaces, etc etc  thank you

On second thought, the CAD software, Vectric Aspire 9.5 is fine. But for CAM, the WinCNC will not work with the Maslow. What is a good Mac-based CAM software?

The Mac based options are pretty limited but I like Carbide Create.

It’s one of those subscription things which is pretty annoying, but some folks in the forums have mentioned that there are older versions out there which are free which could be a good option
