Is anyone available for a paid zoom/call coaching session? I’ve got my Maslow all setup and ready to cut… Just need an hour or so of assistance to clarify and get my project going.
I’ve got my 14’ x 11’ horizontal layout setup and the maslow is calibrated and ready to cut.
My project is cutting triangles out of 4x8 sheet of rigid foam insulation board. ( 2 inch thick ) . Want to cut multiple triangles out of the 4x8 sheet ( approx 4 ) and do it efficiently.
If not, I might be able to help. I have a Maslow 4 and 4.1. I have built several beehives, awards, and numerous kid school projects. My frame is 13’ x 13’ anchors drilled into my garage floor. My workflow is Onshape → Krabzcam → Maslow. I have used Adobe Illustrator instead of Onshape.
How far have you made it? What are you expecting to get out of this hour? Have you passed calibration? (I passed calibration on my original vertical wood frame, but have never succeeded on the garage floor. I did calibration manually.) I highly recommend ordering additional circuit boards. They fail frequently. I ended up with 2 Maslows, so I have 1 hot standby when the kids have a project due tomorrow.
What are you trying to build? What are your tolerances?
Thanks for reaching out; I’m up in Friday Harbor . I wish you would have been available 4 days ago . I finally got it calibrated this afternoon. 12x16 layout horizontal. Needed help from the forum; they were very helpful. 12 hours of tinkering later I succeeded in making some test cuts. My first test cut was a 3mm deep rectangle 10 inches in from the edge of the 4x8 spoilboard to see how well I was aligned. One end was only 1/16th off… happy about that. I did have to shift the whole thing 2” to the left. Then I cut a test micro square in my rigid foam board… success. Tomorrow I’ll try to cut a full shape out of it in one go…. it is 2” thick so I’m hoping that will work.
Are you available tomorrow morning or mid day for a session? What are we talking ballpark per hour? Can do paypal or zelle. I could use your help on making sure my toolpath/gcode is solid. Here is an example of what I’m trying to cut:
Side note; I wonder if not fully screwing down the circuit board might save it the micro vibration abuse. I noticed that the wires support it nicely when not screwed to the top of the router. Kind of like a spring dampening system. I’ll try that tomorrow.
