Ordered a Maslow4 for our woodshop on Edwards AFB. I was surprised to see it on the porch today delivered! The box was in good condition but looked like the tape was cut/broke and retaped. Contents were alittle jumbled. After a quick inspection nothing seemed damaged. The only thing I saw missing was the encoder mounting bracket. Was that removed for v4.1?
Thanks again @bar the woodshop is going to love it!
With 4.1 you shouldn’t need to lubricate anything, the plastic parts which touch are POM and should be self lubricating. A little lube wouldn’t hurt, but it can pick up dust which can be an issue in a dusty environment.
I used a script/awl to slide the nuts into the holes and held them in place with a punch as I tightened the screws.
I had to shim both up rights with 1 washer under each. Both rods were tapped in pretty hard so I’m sure they were fully seated.
The belt guards seemed to flex up and down on the side that only had one screw, when I had the screws tight.
Quite a few spots where the screws don’t engage the nylon of the locking nuts. Fan, and pcp bracket, the belt guards (if you loosen to take out the flex), belt ends attach points (I think ). I added some super glue to the fan casing nuts so they don’t fall off and short circuit the board.
The screws on the arms barely engaged the nylon, I was worried about over tightening them.
