I have a few hardware things I’ve been working on that I keep not finding time to post - this is nice and simple though:
You can buy sheets of PTFE in sheets as well as blocks etc. Which is nice because 0.5mm PTFE can be cut with scissors, and you can make some nice washers to sit between each arm and the arms and cage.
This is in response to me seeing a bit of friction in the past when a little bit of sawdust got in there. It seems to work, but I could also be persuaded there’s a placebo effect from cleaning the arms. Time will tell.
Probably could get the same result with metal washers, but I couldn’t find anything that was what I wanted and not hugely expensive.
