Repurpose stepper motor to a 4 wire

I was wondering if it is possible to temporarily repurpose the Etonm (ET-SGM37DE-12120) stepper motor to be used a 4-wire stepper motor? With most 6-wire stepper motors you can check the continuity between the wires and find the coils. But with these motors, the only continuity I get is between the M+ and the M-.

the stock maslow does not use any stepper motors, it uses DC gear motors with
encoders on them.
