Sequence for firmware update

I just updated my firmware and index to 1.17, from 1.14. So far just did REAT.

Before hitting “Find anchors”, should I reset anything in maslow.yaml?

In particular, I have previously set the x and y scale values. Should those be set back to 1, or does it matter?

How about the previous anchor points? Leave them or set them to 0?

Thanks,
Joe

If you were happy with the Anchor points in 1.14 then you can use the same anchor points in 1.17, no need to Find Anchors. Your X and Y scale values don’t need to change, if they worked for you before just keep them too.
Generally, unless notified when upgrading, there is no need to update your maslow.yaml file. It is a good idea to keep a copy before upgrading. I usually save it with the current date as part of the name. Of course you have to change the name back to reload it.

Thanks.
I’ll go with existing values for now, but what if I want to recalibrate? (I.e., before cutting into marine ply)

It won’t hurt, but no need to update existing values, Find Anchors will improve on the existing values. Just make sure you back up the existing maslow.yaml file before you start.

Will do. I’m gonna reset the scale values anyway, and run another test for that after recalibration.

In theory, the scale values are not needed if you have the right anchor points,
so you do want to reset them to zero when you run find anchors again.

we have found that the lower the current limit you can get away with, the more
accurate the results (you may need to sand the inside of the spools for good
movement.
