Snapped a belt during calibration

I did the USB install to update from .84 to the new post-1.0 version and did a fresh setup per the advice and have had a frustrating experience.

Ran the calibration routine and it ran for hours until it decided it had a fitness of .52 and then saved the settings. But it dropped off the network by the time I checked on it so I restarted and did the belts retract and extend and then apply tension and it complained that the centerpoint was far off so I figured maybe the calibration didn’t go so well.

I ran it again, this time doing an apply-tension before I started because I saw a post where that worked for someone who couldn’t get good fitness.

It got into the ‘poor fitness’ loop again with values in the low .teens by the time I left it, but now I go to check it after an hour and it’s running one of the motors constantly because it’s snapped a belt.

Yikes! So I’ll need to get a new belt, I guess, but holy cow, did not expect the calibration to clobber it. :frowning:

Kinda regretting moving up from .84, it wasn’t perfect but it was working well and I am looking down the barrel of a deadline for a project.

The search here is so-so, I hope other folks aren’t having problems like this right now. If so, any suggestions? I’m worried that I’ll break another belt whenever I get my replacements. BTW, what’s the fastest way to get it? Do they exist on the Amazon?

I’ve ordered a replacement off the shop here just in case, but being able to get more belt for a backup would be handy especially if it snaps again.

They do exist on Amazon, but it’s a bit more expensive there. This is the closest that I’ve found:

Perfect, thank you! I ordered a replacement from The Shop and just put in an order for this too, I suppose it will be a race to see which one gets here first.

I had a similar experience last week, so am waiting on my new belt to continue moving towards membership in the “I’ve made something with my Maslow” club which I’m sure I will. I went ahead and ordered some other things that could also turn out to be consumables while I was placing the order.
