Stone resin cutting

Hi all, I’m building a house and one of the nice features is that my shower is a semicircle. Looks like a nice space but quite a nightmare to fit a shower plate.
While there’s the possibility of tiling the area or putting in a concrete base with waterproof lining, my builder has told me that this will be expensive due to labour costs.
So I was thinking of buying a square stone-resin shower plate and cutting it with the M4.

Has anyone cut or at least carved into/engraved stone-resin? What sort of bit will I need? Any info on rates and whether to start routing from above, the underside or from the side.
I obviously don’t want to crack an expensive shower plate.

I don’t see much online about anyone cutting stone resin with anything other than a tile saw. If there was evidence that someone had cut stone with any kind of router I’d say there is maybe some hope, but it seems like stone might not be a router cuttable material

Thanks for the reply. So if I go down the DIY route it will probably have to be concrete on a liner.

I have seen some videos of an industrial CNC cutting and engraving granite to make a shower tray:

You’d need diamond bits and coolant.

Coolant here meaning water. So the question here is would the M4 be able to handle that. It’s not designed to be water proof.

I suppose if the rate of the motor was low and water was sprayed into it, it might be doable.

Any ideas?

I don’t know of anyone recently trying this. I’ve cut glass using some cheap diamond bits and a lot of patience on makerslide gantry style machine using hot glue to make a pool where the bit was cutting. Maybe a mister might work. The way the sled is designed I would think most of the water would stay low as the DeWalt does put out a decent downdraft.
