I am a large fan of Disney. I have over the years learned and invested in the Art of Disney. This includes the manufacture of their own goods. I have a set of Edwardian style chairs from the old Disneyland Hotel. I love the smart styling. They look like any other chair but the dimensions are of forced perspective and in fact are difficult to sit back in. This makes them uncomfortable to sit in for an extended period of time. They were part of the lobby chairs and not meant for long sitting.
Yesterday we visited the Grand Californian. There is a movement to 1920 Art Deco in the Downtown Disney district and Art Deco throughout California Adventure. Disney makes much of their own fixtures in house and I even collaborate with a designer that has done this with them.
Here are some very clean furniture designs I saw at the hotel and I thought they might inspire others to design.
