Very first cutout

Well after the sled, but first one I set up myself. I know its simple, but my son loved it.

Thanks for looking, more to come.

Excellent Work!

Thank you

Thank YOU! For sharing. It’s good to see more pictures of what is cut. :star_struck:

Very clean cutout. What bit size, type and feed rate you use?

I went very conservative for my first cut. I went 20 ipm and .10 step down. The material is some left over 1/4" birch and the bit was just a 1/4" spiral upcut I had from another project.

Qualities of the perfect first cut.

That’s quite an ambitious first cut! I’m impressed! I’ll probably just be cutting calibration squares for a while :smirk:

I never thought about it that way but, indeed!

If that gets frustrating, and if you don’t necessarily need the accuracy, remember that shapes like dogs and such can be somewhat more forgiving to minor errors. And significantly more rewarding than misshapen squares
