WebControl Install help

Hello,

I purchased a metal maslow a few years and now getting around to setting it up. I used the Raspberry imager to burn the image 2020-02-13-webcontrolcnc-buster-lite-0.1.1 to a SD card. But when I boot using that image the Pi does nothing, it doesn’t connect to wifi and nothing comes on the screen.

I thought maybe I was doing something wrong, or the screen wasn’t working, so I burned an official Pi image to the SD and booted from that and it came up just fine. Ok, so now I have Pi installed so I tried installing webcontrol and got the tar.gz file unzipped fine, but when I run ./webcontrol I get an error: “cannot execute: required file not found”

Any help is greatly appreciated.

I did find lots of great info while searching this site but not a solution to my scenario.

I don’t think it matters, but I also tried all of the above on a usb stick also and got the same results.

Are there any packages I need to install when I use the official Pi OS and download webcontrol manually?

what model Pi are you using? that image is old enough that it isn’t going to
support the Pi5, and may not support the Pi4

It would need a new bootloader and kernel to support the new hardware

I’m fine not using the image, and installing it manually, but I get the “cannot execute: required file not found” error when I do that.

Issue was 64-bit Pi. Used 32-bit image and it started successfully

makes sense, you could install the 32 bit libraries and get it to work on the 64
bit image, but you wouldn’t gain much, and it would be a pain to track down all
the libraries needed.
