Wider top beam now or later?

I am just now calibrating and now have a per drawing “Bar’s bolt together frame”.

I expect to want a longer and higher top beam in the near future as I expect to cut a lot of nearly full sheet parts which will need to have fairly accurate, straight edges.

  1. Will a longer beam be beneficial for me?

  2. Would you suggest I go ahead and change the beam now and calibrate once, or later and calibrate again?

I’d go ahead and build it as you ultimately intend to. Also, I would expect that you will do many more than one calibration in your time using the machine. I can’t count how many times I have recalibrated (tweaking this, changing that, etc.)
