Z-axis raising to router screw extents when ran

@Keith - I am using the Grbl post. I will include the Inventor 2019 file later today so you can take a look at it. Hopefully you have 2019. :grinning:

I defined the stock from solid. I have setup other files where I use the full stock with my parts overlayed in an assembly but those were only for learning HSM. I will try that and see if it changes the outcome. With the single part file being used I do not have the ability to watch material being cut away is the simulation runsā€¦or I am just missing some setting that will do that. I will check on that later also.

I tried defining the coordinate system at the bottom and top of the stock from solid. The .NC file only shows the countour cuts and none of the pocket cuts. Still trying to figure that out but maybe adding another part as the stock will give a different result.

I am still learning Invetor HSM and CNC in general so all advice is appreciated. :grinning:

you should not need to add a part for the stock. the stock is a separate function and not an ā€œentityā€ per se.

I think I am running Inventor 2016, but Iā€™ll have to check when I get home. If you can export in older formats, that would be best (I donā€™t remember if thatā€™s possible, but should be, as long as the part isnā€™t too fancy).

I would also suggest that you add the Maslow post processor. I am not sure what is different about it as compared with the Grbl post, but my gut says things will be easier using the machine specific post.
