Anyone use the Hercules 7amp Trim Router?

Price is solid, easy to obtain, and seems to have relatively good reviews. Curious if anyone has adapted this router yet to their M4?

It looks like a Makita clone so this thread might be relevant: Makita Adapter Kit Poll - #48 by bar

Thanks bar! I have an STL of a FOXcnc adapter for the Hercules and it shows their adapter as being 66MM ID. A review on Harbor Freight website states its 65.75mm. I did a quick analysis of the Makita adapter and I am seeing 64.5mm ID, I assume the Makita is considered a 65mm as you stated at the beginning of the thread. I may have to just go in store and measure one up myself to confirm.

Looking at some more info, it sounds like the 65-66mm range is acceptable for these types of routers. I may just print your adapter up and see what happens. hmmm

the other thing you need to check is now long the cylinder of the body is. The
maslow needs 4 inches to have both the top and bottom clamps be able to tighten.

how tall are the bodies? some routers are short enough that it complicates their
use. The maslow needs just over 100mm (4")

I’ve got a Hercules built into my setup (not yet reflashed and calibrated). It needs sleeves about 1mm thick for fit. Also needs a different holder for the circuit board, because different pattern of stuff on the top. I 3D printed one, but not happy enough about the design to send it to unsuspecting possible users.

Hercules made its first cut. I have to work on bit selection and zeroing and making double sure of my axes, but the router is fine. (One issue is the the spindle lock button doesn’t really want to line up with the cutout in the frame, but that’s easy to work around.)
